Guided Mindfulness Meditation

Your third lesson and guided mindfulness meditation.

In this short meditation, you’ll relax and go on a peaceful inner journey. You’ll discover the four pillars of mindfulness, and how you can harness them to improve your mood, your creativity, and take control of your own mental processes ~ the ego!

Get Set Up

As usual, you will need very little to do this:

  • A comfortable spot to sit
  • 15 minutes
  • An erect neck and spine

What Will You Experience?

The experience of mindfulness is one of witnessing. You let go of any anxiety for the future, and any trauma from the past, and fully engage in life in the here and now. Emotions like bliss and joy are often triggered.

Remember though to allow anything that happens in meditation happen. Don’t resist, just accept. Let go of any expectation and surrender to the experience, even if it’s unpleasant. It will be what it will be.

Thank you so much for these videos you’ve posted here… I stumbled upon them as I was researching transcendental meditation. I’ve been dealing with some anxiety and fears that have come out of nowhere, and now some PTSD effects from something that happened 12 years ago. It is so scary to not know what’s happening and the fear of just going to work the next day. I’m a single mom of a beautiful 12 year old girl and I simply cannot “not” fix this. I have taken some yoga classes but haven’t really learned how to meditate. I see how if one was to do this daily, how the benefits could be amazing. I agree with the previous comments about how your videos are “just you” and how you can pretty much meditate anywhere. This will be a slow process, but I just wanted to thank you, because if I didn’t see this video and meditate with it, I may be taking another sick day tomorrow. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing more videos in the future. I work with preschoolers all day, I sing and I’m a musician in my spare time, so the videos on supplements for mental clarity are also a bonus. Good luck and namaste!

I have to agree with Roland. Your latest video on mindfulness arrived in my mailbox at the right time. I really needed a good reminder to keep up with the meditation. Thank you for that. Your insights are much appreciated.

Hey Duke, thanks for saying so. Your feedback is a great encouragement for me. So pleased I can do something to help a little 🙂

      Much appreciation,
      Jim

You are doing a great job making meditation accessible to “regular folk.” The videos have a look about them that is contemporary and sophisticated. So often videos on this subject look like a weekend retreat at an Eastern-style ashram (hippie robes, long hair, cushions, images of Hindu gods and Buddha). In the end serious meditators just might turn to that “serious” stuff, but you have found a highly palatable way to bring people to this subject in a way that is friendly and accessible. No small accomplishment that.
    Bravo, Jim!

Hi Roland, thanks for your truly lovely comment. I really appreciate that you like that I’m just being myself in the videos. It’s very easy to try to be something you’re not online, but people just see right through that kind of stuff anyway!

      Thank you!
